Greetings America!!
ok, so here is a story from last night that is JUST TOO GOOD not to share!!! We wake up promptly at 520- which should never happen A) on vacation and B) after the consumption of the amount of wine we had at dinner the night before- At any rate, we had a date with a italian legend, no not Fabio, the VATICAN! Eddy and Carly come into our room and go, WTF happened to you guys last night. Apparently in the middle of the night Kristina herd "american voices" coming from the kitchen. She was scared and made eddy check on us. SOUND ALSEEP we never even know!! ITALIAN STOONAD Apparently Carly in her drunken state leaves the front door of the apartment open which is why Kiki was hearing voices hahahahaha
dont worry you have to get buzzed into the apartment-so we were all safe :) but still HILARIOUS
we had another delightful breakfast at Cafe Sentimentico accross from the apartment. YUMMY
Then we were off to the Land of the Holy, Vatican City. We took a walk instead of using our Roma Passes, because we werne't sure if the Vatican was considered Rome or not. We arrived and it was BREATH TAKING!!! Truly worth the flight over for it alone!!
Now I know why the pope waits forever to die, his home is BEAUTIFUL!!
We toured a little on our own then headed for our underground grotto and catecombs tour!!
of course there were people from "The Pitts" there HAHAHA go figure!
They were amazing, tiny, warm, and dirty, but AMAZING. I have discovered that I in some ways am Roman at heart. They put the amount of time the person lived on a grave instaed of the day of death!! isnt that sweet!!
Then we are under the Basillica and Carly was tripped by God- The reason he tripped her will stay unamed at this point, needless to say she deserved it ;)
The vatican!
The Vatican was truly out of this world. I had this overwhelming sense of peace and serenity, it calmed me. (yes that’s right, this ADD, hyper ass girl was calmed by the pope) haha
From the Vatican we took the steps to the top. Figuring since we were climbing practically to heaven, that God would help us out in our climb, WRONG. He kicked out ass… twice! Hahaha Those were hard, and the steps kept getting steeper and steeper and smaller and more narrow as we peaked!!!! INSANE we were a hot sweaty mess by the time we reached the outside top area, but we still looked hot
Before we climed to the top of St Peters we passed this open Itlaian style water fountain! Delicious
Ok the blog is called Magic Day for two reasons. Carly had on MAGIC BLUSH today hahahah we don’t know what was it in, or why or how even, but it was magical. She was like a Americana movie star today. Ciao bella resounded everywhere she went. The blush stayed perfect even though she climbed to heaven and back, it’s magic I SWEAR IT!
The second reason it was magic was because while at the top of the basicilla after our climb there was this huge wired fence. Well, my camera was MAGIC, I was taking pictures down below to the floor and it was MAGICALLY eliminating them!!! Poof no fence, just like we were suspended chilling from the top of St .Peters Basicilla.
Lastly, my camera has some magic ability to make us all look gorgeous in al the pictures. Lol Maybe it’s the Italian air, the Itialian men, the fabulous food and coffee or all of the above, but we are always glowing and fabulous in them lol
We call it “the beauty shot”
exhibit A below
After the Vatican adventure Carly and I went home and Kristina and Eddy went out to the Castle of St ANgelo. .... and EDDY PROPOSED!!!!!
Congrats guys
AT night we trecked out to the Trevi fountain. We stopped to have dinner at a resturant that one of our Surgeons reccomended to us. La Carbonara in the Campio de Fiori DELICIOUS
we got this "vegetable buffet" and it was amazing!!! Thanks Malvessi
Then we went to the Snuggle Steps-- OPPS I mean Spanish steps, but they could be renamed snuggle steps with a problem. lol We were there fairly late, about 230am Rome time and there were couples all over "muggin down" lol "making out" "making up" and doing the nasty lol
Our poor feet at this time were DEAD & DYING, we had been up since 530 am the day before and out on the road since 7 we were beat up, tipsy and ready to head home! Taxi here we come!!
buona sera!
