Florence is as beautiful as her American legendary actress sounds. Old, quaint, but sassy at the same time. Im still not 100% sure about what I feel about Firenze. The outskirts are BEAUTIFUL! looks just like the tuscan country side everyone dreams of in their head. The tall beautiful trees, aged buildings, hills after hills, Itlaian men waiting with fabulously cooked meals awaiting your arrival-opps wait no that's just my vision of Tuscany hahaha
We arrive, check into our Firenze loft, it's great, get ready and head out to explore. We talked to Kiki and she reccomended that we go to Michealango's plazza. (everyone here has a damn plazza. If I was an ancient italian I suppose at this point i'd have a salami stand named after me-perhaps Kristin's meats? kinda catchy no? )
The steps were overlooking italian country side and it was breathtaking.
From the steps we grabbed some munchies, Italian potatoe chips and headed to the Ponte Vechio.
It is really amazing at night. I had seen it once before, so I had an idea of what to expect, but it just blew that out of the water!! truly gorgeous! something about all these old buildings, lights and water that I just can't get enough of!
We met up with Kristina and Eddy for a bowl of yummy soup. They have this thing native to Florence called Pomadoro soup. It had all these crushed tomatoes and eggplant in it- Fabulous
oh yea, before we went there we were strolling around the Ponte Vechio and grabbed a bite to eat. IT was quite possibly the worse food i've eaten in italy! IT was the first day me and carly didnt photo our plates, and devour them completely. IT was a tragic day in eating in italy. We aquainted the food around the Vechio to disney land. Way over price and way way under quality. We thought our server could quite possibly have been arabic. Bleck-
I was wicked beat up so we headed home early! but on the way home we bumped into this museum with peices hanging by the walls to see... check out the video ;)
Ciao
