dinner, wine and gelato

Well, we are prety beat up from the flights, travels, 11oclock cocktails, gawking at the military men and hot italianos- so we are headed to dinner and then off to bed! we have a busy busy day tomorrow early. Date with the vatican at 7am YOWZA
who would though a little old man, and a 2000 year old church could drag carly out that early ;)

The Rose above is from one of the Cathedrals we visited. It was in the garden on our way in!! MAGNEFICO!
our view from dinner-thanks to my Fixed 50mm 2.8 :)

Ciao and goodnight from Roma

Ciao From Rome!!!!

Greetings from ROME!!

We have arrived in Rome, safe and sound. We met Gianni, at her Mercedes Benz outside the airport. She spoke not a word of english so our ride was quite except for me and Carly's endless banter of "woah, we're here!!! and "I cant believe we're here" resounding from the back of the car as we sped past vespas after vespa and hot italian men :)

We arrived to meet Sebille a typical italian woman who lets us up into our apartment. Its just the cutest lil thing ever except the two flights of steps we had to lug our 80lb suitcases up!! it was a challaneging experience to say the least lol but we and our bags made it to the loft.

<----from the catherdral of cacillea :)

<----Carly's gross feet from Rome-ing around Rome with no shoes... jk just from flip flops!!

Since Eddy and Kristina weren't there yet, we decided to take on the city alone. We were a hot comodity to say the least!! hehehe
ciao bella ciao bella. We had the military men blowing us kisses- IT WAS DELIGHTFUL!! :)
BIG EGO BOOST!! I <3 it!!

Eddy and Kristina made it here around 1ish ! we picked them up showed them around the apt. We are all soo excited to be here!!!

This is our first Breakfast in ITALY yummy
double panini sandwiches and duo capichinis ;) *thanks Walter

Off to dinner!
ciao

Run for our money!!!

After our carousel flight around and around New York we arrived to the tarmac in the middle of the runway miles away from the actual airport-2 hours late. We literally SPRINTED to our gate. Of course we had time to pick up some food-BK and a club for the road and a quick stop into Brookstone for a head pillow and blanket for Carly (apparently our priorities were food and sleep no matter if we made it to the flight or not). Needless to say we get to the flight and get on board. We were lucky enough to be the LAST people on the flight and there were TONS of extra seats around us. As much as me and Carly love each other- the 8 hours with only cm’s between us wasn’t gonna cut it ;)

On a bad note, Eddy and Kristina weren’t able to get on their standby flight from Atlanta to Rome, They have to fly from Atlanta to Milan and then buy another ticket from Milan to Roma. They say they will be there by 1230 Rome time, only time will tell J

Viola! We were off. The Air Italia staff was great, and we got complimentary wine. Some red and some white – guess who’s was who’s? ;)
We’re off to put our Brookstone pillows to good use!!!

BON APPETITO

Our in flight food was lean cuisine Italian style.. YUMM-O.
We devoured it like it was the last time we would see food!!!

Off to sleep, we will chat from Rome!!

<--- thats us in our BENZ from the airport to our apt in Rome :)
xxoxo

Around and Around we go

Greetings from 27,000 ft above.
our flight from Miami to NY is fairly filled and me and Carly got the great opportunity to sit together in a 3 seat row... ahhh SPACE delightful!!! on our way in, we pass first class of course. Remember we are nurses that work at MCH, we certainty arent flying first class... however, the NUN WAS!! full uniform, full godliness and all.. FIRST CLASS?? REALLY we did it wrong! Think they will let us into the monastery as a late regristratant??

We were slated to arrive in New York at 315pm HOWEVER, we have be unfortunately circling the lovely NY area for about 45mins :( apparently there is "Flight Traffic”
We are departing from NY at 530 and are desperately hoping that we make our flight, and for me more importantly, that we are able to get food before we get our flight!! hahaha
for the love of God, please allow us to get food before our 9hour 2nd leg of our trip!!
That will certainly be a NO BUENO situation for miss Carlita if I am unable to eat ;)

oh a side note, there was alot of turbulence on our way here, and this German lady and her GF start crying and having anxiety and pressing the call button. The stewardess came and GAVE HER WINE!! WTF
Im going to have a food attack and see what happens ;)

onward and around again,
until our next lap,

Bon Voyage

OK So I've arrived  at the airport, only to find that my supposed $50 upcharge for my FAT ASS BAG was really a $205 upcharge. So I made nice with the small Argentine/Italiano man, Ricardo, and he "cut me a deal" lol so $55 later, courtesy of Frangouch, I am packed up, bagged, and waiting at the MIA airport for departure.
Carly is stoonad and tired, I found out of a great thing called "go go in flight" which means I can go online in all my flights to and from Italy Munich and America!! Yippie

Me and Pita (that's Carly for those you who dont know-she's above) have the extreme pleasure of sitting next to an elderly gentleman who could quite possibly be carrying the lost case of SARS in America. I was going to offer him some antibiotics I had packed for myself, however, Carly said that wasn't the best idea.. OH WELL- SARS here we come ;)

OMG I just experienced the best/coolest thing ever. I skyped with Kiki and Eddy on their flight to Atlanta!! how awesome is this.... I am very excited.
